The Dirty Youth’s new Muse cover
TDY continue their Uprising.
Welsh rockers The Dirty Youth recently unveiled their latest studio effort – a cover of Muse’s song ‘Uprising’. Putting their own stamp on it but without straying too far from the original, this version could easily appeal to fans of either band.
TDY gained widespread attention last year after they posted up an interesting acoustic cover of Korn’s track ‘Narcissistic Cannibal’ (from their dubstep-infused album ‘The Path Of Totality’) via Metal Hammer magazine’s YouTube channel, which actually caught Korn’s attention and resulted in them offering TDY a slot on their European tour that year, and later, a two-page spread in Metal Hammer magazine. If you missed it, you can check that out here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgj8v2VJCaI. They also played as sole support for The Rasmus on their tour, picking up an international fanbase in the process, which was documented on their ’28 Gigs Later’ DVD.
A personal favourite of mine – ‘Reqiuem Of The Drunk’
The Dirth Youth are currently working on their second album, the follow-up to the well-received 2011 album ‘Red Light Fix’.
